Kathryn Denning is an anthropologist and award-winning educator based
at York University in Toronto.
As a researcher, she specializes in the long view of human history, the
big picture of global civilization, and the eternal questions of who we
are, what we’re doing, and where we’re going. Her work has involved models
of scientific knowledge, multimedia theory, popularization of science,
effective methods of teaching and learning, and transformative education.
As a teacher, she focuses on tapping into the wonders of the world around
us, and helping students reach their potential as independent lifelong
learners. She believes sincerely that in our quickly-changing world, we
all need adaptability, strong and flexible learning strategies, and the
skill of envisioning positive change.
